Vote both Llewellyn and Liu-McCormack

for Fairfield BOE July 23rd

Eileen Liu-McCormack for BOE

Eileen Liu-McCormack has announced her intent to run for the Board of Education in November and is seeking a nomination on the Republican ticket at the July 23rd caucus vote.

Eileen has a strong interest in the educational development of our children in order to prepare them to thrive in the globally competitive world we live in.  Her experience and active participation in the growth and development of students reflects her commitment to education.  Last year she left a position as a Managing Director in JP Morgan Chase's Investment Bank to focus on her family and three young children’s education.  Two are currently in the Fairfield schools and one is a pre-schooler. Eileen is an active member of the PTA, volunteering and chairing a number of programs/events. In addition to her PTA participation, she co-developed and implemented the Young Entrepreneurs after school program aimed at practical learning enrichment for elementary school students. She had the opportunity to work cooperatively with the PTA, school administration and teachers to deliver a quality experience to students.   The program gave students a hands-on opportunity to conceive, design, analyze, optimize, market, price and sell a product that they took from an idea to something real.

Eileen spent over 20 years at JPMorganChase pursuing a career in Corporate Finance and Sales&Trading, developing efficient solutions to meet client interests and fiscal constraints for both risk management and investment purposes.  As a sales and marketing manager for complex financial products, she has experience working collaboratively in groups to achieve goals by exercising both analytical and innovative problem solving skills. Eileen is a firm believer that strong communication between concerned parties, transparency and openness to diverse perspectives supported by sound research are essential to arrive at quality decisions.  In addition, Eileen actively participated in the recruitment of college graduates giving her a first-hand understanding of what knowledge and skills are relevant in today's work-place. She served as the co-captain of JPM’s UPenn Sales&Trading recruitment team for several years.

Valedictorian of her high school class in Long Island public schools, she went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated cum laude with a dual degree from the Wharton School in Finance and the College of Arts and Sciences in Oriental Studies. She further was selected to attend the ISDA-sponsored financial training program at INSEAD.  She remains an active alumni representative to high school candidates for her alma mater.

As an involved parent with a strong financial background, Eileen will bring a unique set of skills to the Fairfield Board of Education as well as a fresh perspective. Her commitment to education is long-standing.  She believes that promoting excellence in education and fiscal responsibility is not only possible, but is essential to a growing, vibrant community.
